GEONETCast: bridging the gap
The GEO Portal
is the gateway to discover, access and
use the data, information, tools, training
material and services available through
GEOSS. To bridge the gap of poor or no
internet connection, GEOSS resources can
also be accessed by using GEONETCast,
a global, satellite based broadcasting
system.
Here, at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia,
students are preparing exams near a
satellite dish. This University was founded
in 1950.
